Our history

Institute of Consulting approved training centre

Calvert Markham and Ken Dietz founded the business as Consultancy Skills Training Limited in 1989 and from the outset we have focused on training in consultancy skills. Initially we designed and delivered only bespoke programmes – courses designed to meet specific needs – but in 1997 launched our public course programme to enable smaller organisations and independent consultants to participate in our more popular consultant training courses.

Ken retired in 2002 but the team had already grown over the years with the addition of other first class consultant tutors.

Organisations from an increasingly wide range of sectors use our services and to reflect this change in our market, we changed our name to Elevation Learning Limited in 2007. This change of name acknowledged the need to raise the consulting performance of individuals who use consulting skills in their work, but do not necessarily have the word "consultant" in their job title.

Being committed to the development of professionalism and competence among consultants, we have always had a close relationship with the Institute of Consulting and its predecessors, the Institute of Business Consulting and the Institute of Management Consultancy. We were therefore delighted to be recognised by the Institute as Approved Training Centre in 2010.
