| Skills of the facilitator | A refresher on the important skills of listening and questioning. Exploring the differences between listening as an ally or adversary. Using productive questions to surface information effectively and efficiently. |
| Your impact as a facilitator | The messages you send as a facilitator are considerably more than the words you speak. This session will look into how to use your body language and voice to best effect |
| Bringing the skills together | An opportunity to practice your listening and questioning skills with a client group to help them explore their needs |
| Behaviours of the facilitator | What to do and what not to do to bring out the best in your workshop and meeting participants. Learning how to observe behaviours in a group. |
| Day 2 | |
| Styles of facilitation | Exploring different styles of facilitation, looking at the advantages and disadvantages of Tell versus Ask and when each style might be appropriate. Handling differences of opinion and difficult people. |
| Preparing for a successful event | Clarifying the purpose and understanding the desired outcomes of the event. Determining who should attend and designing the agenda. |
| Workshop tools | Selecting appropriate workshop tools to maximise the quality and quantity of input from your workshop or meeting participants. |
| Bringing it all together | An opportunity to facilitate a problem-solving workshop on behalf of the client and receive feedback on your facilitation skills. |
| Learning review and next steps | Embedding new skills requires action on your part. This session will help you to translate your learning from this course into new behaviours back in the workplace. |
